DAY 4 MATCH 27 – ITO Mima VS JEON Jihee
Match 27: Mima ITO (JPN) 4 – 1 JEON Jihee (KOR) (11-7, 5-11, 11-10, 11-2, 5-1*)
Jeon knew she needed a fast start to beat Ito and keep alive her stirring run in this tournament. And despite dropping the first set, the Korean fought back to level the match. The third game would prove crucial, as Jeon fought from 8-4 behind to get to game point at 10-8. But that was as far as she got, as Ito took the next three points to regain her poise. From that point on, it was Ito all the way.
Jihee was very determined and she put up a fierce fight. It was crucial to win the third game and that got me back on track. Against Sun in the final I will be going all out.
I prepared well for this match but she was no doubt on form as well. Losing the third game was deflating - I failed to make the most of my chances. But it has still been a great tournament for me and I shall go out and enjoy playing the last match.
