Despite having the higher rank, Franziska was clearly delighted to finally break the Lee hoodoo in a match that could easily have gone the other way. After dropping the first game, Lee fought back and was narrowly edged in the second. The Korean then squandered an 8-3 lead to lose the third set which took the wind out of his sails. Lee won the fourth game but Franziska closed out strong, taking victory with the FAST5.
I’ve never beaten him before so this win is special. I stole the third set, made some shots that I don’t usually make and it probably affected him psychologically. I relaxed a bit in the fourth game because I knew the FAST5 was coming up and I wanted to come out with full gas.
