A strange affair with Sun getting off to a slow start while Wang got into her stride faster than her previous two matches, a complete contrast to what fans would expect. Sun got back into the match by taking Game 3, but couldn’t capitalise on a time penalty point against Wang in the fourth game as regulation time ended with Wang 3-1 in the lead. While the FAST5 came to Wang’s rescue twice already in Singapore, this time around it was Sun who benefited as she freed her arms and got the points needed to pick up all three FAST5 games to wrap up the match.
Disappointing to not have handled the FAST5 well, it zipped by too quickly. Perhaps the time penalty caused me to hurry things up and I didn’t handle my composure well. But I certainly got into the match a lot faster than my previous ones.
Wang Manyu
I didn’t sleep well, having finished late the previous day and just couldn’t get focused, whereas Manyu got going quickly. The time penalty on her surprised me, I thought it was on me as I was serving. In the FAST5, the points are decided quickly and I just played with more freedom and went for my shots.
