A rollercoaster of a match, which gave a full display of the excitement and new dimension that T2 Diamond has introduced to table tennis. Sun motored to a 2-0 lead and there was nothing to suggest she would not go on to complete a straightforward win. But that was when Ito found her range and proceeded to peg her Chinese opponent back, taking the next two and looked on the ascendency against a player her same age. Truly nothing to choose in the end as the first two FAST5 games were split, and both fought to the very last point. Either would have been a worthy winner.
We both gave it our all. Fortune favoured me this time, as she got to match point first and was serving for the final point. I’m always happy to play her because I always end up learning so many new things. We’re both of the same age, so I guess that’s why the matches take on special meaning. This tournament was significant as I learned so much about handling the big points.

Although I lost, I truly enjoyed this game. Sun has plenty of new techniques that I’m able to learn from and continue to improve my game. The T2 format truly sharpens my mental strength as you can’t afford any mistakes in the FAST5.
