Calderano would be disappointed to have this one slip away after battling back to tie the match score in the regulation 24 minutes. The opening two games were close affairs while the next two were the complete opposite, as Calderano and Niwa took turns to dominate. But in the FAST5, it was all Niwa who gained the advantage and didn’t let up.
Calderano had a tricky serve, so I made sure going into the FAST5 to handle his serves better and make the most of my opportunities. This tournament allows us to keep track of each other’s form in the lead-up to the Olympics.
